ARABIC TITLES POPULAR AT THE MIDDLE EAST STUDIES ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE
Hundreds of university professors, students, librarians and others convened here November 15-18, 2019 for the annual Middle East Studies Association conference held in San Antonio, Texas. Panels and special programs addressed issues around Mideast and world politics, including Palestine and Israel, the struggle for a Kurdish homeland, and much more. The Pathfinder booth attracted long-time friends and Pathfinder volunteers met new people interested in classroom adoptions and library sales. All Malcolm X titles were sold. Books on the roots of women’s oppression were popular. A third of all books sold were from Pathfinder’s growing list of titles in Arabic with Is Biology Woman’s Destiny by Evelyn Reed leading the way.
