Pathfinder Press at African Studies Association Annual Meeting
Chicago, IL–Over 1600 academics, researchers, authors, and librarians attended the 67th Annual Meeting of the African Studies Association December 12–14.
Notable were the large number of Africans who participated in the more than 350 meetings, panels, round-table discussions, films, and exhibits. Workshops and presentations ranged from: “Africa’s Diaspora”, “Popular Culture and Media”, “Urban Africa” and “Social Movements, Activism, and Resistance”.
Pathfinder Press was one of 32 exhibitors. Many browsing the booth left with stacks of books - those of Thomas Sankara’s speeches were top sellers. Attendees bought a wide variety of Pathfinder titles including: Are They Rich Because They're Smart?, Malcolm X, Black Liberation, and the Road to Workers Power, and The Jewish Question – A Marxist Interpretation.
Forty-five people signed up to receive promotional material from Pathfinder Press.
