PATHFINDER PRESS JOINS DOZENS OF PUBLISHERS AT “VIRTUAL” 2020 MANILA INTERNATIONAL BOOK FAIR
Pathfinder Press was one of 58 publishers displaying their titles online at the 2020 Manila International Book Fair November 24–30. The annual book fair draws hundreds of thousands of people over several days who buy books and participate in a wide range of cultural programs. This year's book fair was "virtual", that it, it took place as an online event this year because of the coronavirus pandemic. Except for Pathfinder Press and two other publishers, all of the exhibitors were from the Philippines.
Teams of Pathfinder Press volunteers staffed large, attractive booths at the 2018 and 2019 Manila book fairs, where they sold hundreds of books. Participation in the online 2020 fair was a way to continue reaching out to readers throughout Asia using a web site set up by fair organizers. Pathfinder's 2020 online display included a wide range of titles and was supplemented by promotional flyers sent out to contacts made at previous fairs.
Orders for books came in through the web site. Top selling titles included Imperialism, The Highest Stage of Capitalism by V.I. Lenin; Feminism and the Marxist Movement, by Mary-Alice Waters; and Are They Rich Because They're Smart? by Jack Barnes.
